
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Governor Mike Dunleavy has submitted a transition report to President-Elect Donald Trump’s transition team highlighting Alaska’s goals under Trump’s second administration.
Dunleavy sent the plan along with a letter to the Trump Transition Headquarters congratulating Trump on his win and stating that his election would herald a new era of optimism and opportunity for Alaska.
“In your first term, you led in realizing Alaska’s potential like no other President in history. Alaska’s untapped energy and mineralDunleavy sent the plan and a letter to the Trump Transition Headquarters, congratulating Trump on his win and stating that his election would herald a new era of optimism and opportunity for Alaska. Resources stand ready to contribute to America’s economic revival and national security,” Dunleavy wrote.
Dunleavy’s team compiled a Federal Transition Plan, listing seven priorities for Alaska under Trump’s administration. Those priorities include reinstating prior Trump administration actions, restoring Trump’s administration position on lands into trust and native allotments, federal recognition of Alaska’s title to its submerged land, returning primacy of Fish and Game Management to the state, for Alaska to be empowered in its waters and wetlands, have state primacy on environmental enforcement and for a cabinet-level task force to be created targeting Alaska specific policies.
Dunleavy’s administration is asking Trump for an executive order targeting Alaska specifically. In this proposed executive order, they would like for Trump to reverse President Joe Biden’s “Alaska resource lockdown,” “end Biden’s deep state agency Alaska overreach,” and “counter Biden’s attack on Alaskan Management of Alaska’s assets.
The specifics of the proposed executive order include:
- Reissue TRUMP ANWR Leases, Initiate Exploration, and Hold Lease Sale
- Reissue TRUMP National Petroleum Reserve Plan, Reverse Biden Reserve Lock-Up Rule
- Reissue TRUMP Ambler Mining Road Permits to Open Alaska Critical Mineral Storehouse
- Reissue TRUMP Tongass Roads Rule to Allow Mineral, Timber, and Community Access
- Restore TRUMP Wetlands Policies and Allow Alaska to Develop One Percent
- Reverse Over 60 Biden Agency Actions Targeting the Lock-Up of Alaska Lands
- Reverse Biden Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act Weaponized
- Actions Used to Lock-Up Oil & Gas and Mineral Resources in the Name of Climate Change
- Reverse Biden Agency Actions Dividing Alaskans over Fish, Wildlife and State Authority
- Restore Alaska’s Primary Authority Over Fish & Wildlife Guaranteed by Law
- Restore Full Primacy for States Under the Clean Water Act Guaranteed by Law
- Revoke Obsolete Public Land Orders so Alaska May Finally Receive its Statehood Lands
- End Agency Stonewalling and Recognize Alaska’s Ownership of its Submerged Lands
“Alaskans look forward to working with President Trump’s Administration to rectify the four years of disingenuous and partisan infringements,” the Alaska Federal Transition Plan stated.
