Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead in Teaneck Thursday night.
Several callers reported to 9-1-1 around 7 p.m. that a pedestrian was lying in the road on Cedar Lane near Lincoln Place, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. Officers determined the person had been hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Holy Name Hospital and pronounced dead. Law enforcement officials did not release the person’s identity, pending the notification of next of kin.
