Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on Monday at the Capitol Rotunda, with several notable figures, including tech CEOs, in attendance. Among the flood of photos and videos from the event circulating on social media, one particular image stood out: a photo of Sundar Pichai and Elon Musk, both absorbed in their phones, sparking a wave of laughter on the Internet.
Dressed immaculately in suits, Pichai and Musk can be seen standing next to Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, and his fiance, Lauren Sánchez, and using their mobile phones. Sharing the picture, an X user wrote, “These kids and their damn phones.”

“Yeah but they’re not on tiktok… its probably difficult leaving their trillion dollar companies alone for a couple of hours,” a third user reacted. “Google Pixel vs Apple iPhone right here,” the fourth user said.
In a post on X, Sundar Pichai congratulated Trump for being sworn in as the President of the United States for the second time. “Congratulations to @POTUS Donald Trump and @VP JD Vance on your inauguration. We look forward to working with you to usher in a new era of technology + AI innovation that will benefit all Americans,” he wrote.
